Hair question

Hi everyone! I am looking for some advice for my son's hair. He is mixed and has curly hair, picture for reference. I've never used product in it (besides a detangler). Recently, his curls have been really dry and frizzy. I am looking for products I can (or should) be using to keep his hair healthy. I am trying to find products that are safe for toddlers (I check things on the Yuka app). Please let me know if you ladies have any suggestions. Thank you!

My sweet girl has tight curls too! I've been using the Shea moisture curl enhancing cream for a stronger old (holds well for car rides), or depending on the day I love carols daughter leave in conditioner (holds curl well, not as strong, smells amazing). Every night after bath I put in leave in conditioner to help with the de-tangling in the morning. Plus silk crib sheets🫶🏼 I am still looking for really good black owned brands, but this is what we've been using at the moment.

Both my son and I have hair like that so I usually use the same stuff I use in my hair on his. So when I want to do it I will soak it with a spray bottle of water and then glob a huge amount of Mielle leave in conditioner (love that stuff for my hair!) And I'll finger comb through his curls until the tangles are out. As far as washing I still just use baby shampoo for now.

My girl has slightly tighter curls but I love a good “curl smoothie”. Shea moisture has a good one and so does As I Am. After wetting the hair throughly and detangling apply section by section and brush through. I love the denman brush. You can also finger coil after if you want to go that far lol. I usually don’t have the patience. Also silk bonnet if he’ll go for it haha my girl doesn’t haha.

Thank you ladies!

My son has really curly hair, his usually gets super frizzy in the back from the car seat but we use shea moisture detangler, cream and jelly dependent on the day. like if we are going somewhere or he has picture day i use the jelly but on just a regular day i use the cream. it keeps it hydrated and the curls more manageable. Those are all from the shea moisture kids line.
