My baby had to do baby cereal in her bottles to gain weight (instructed by her pediatrician due to falling off the growth scale and for other medical reasons) at 2 months. She used the Phillips avent natural response bottles and nipples. We had to move her to a flow 4 nipple so she could get it out.
Any reason why you can’t just use a spoon? We did baby cereal first and just started her straight on it like normal cereal in a bowl and spoon fed her x
None. You don't put anything in a bottle but liquid. Even for reflux they're moving away from recommending it in bottles due to aspiration risk. You can go straight to solids and cereal isn't a great "first food." Also not the best option for weight gain when formula exists and isn't a hazard I would follow this account https://www.instagram.com/the.baby.dietitian?igsh=NnF5bGE3aWZqdnV1
You actually shouldn't put cereal in a bottle at all unless specifically instructed to by your baby's pediatrician for a medical reason. I know it's something the older generation pushes, but it can be really harmful to their gut health and is also a choking hazard. Did the pediatrician tell you to offer it? If so, can you ask the office the best way to offer it?l
