Baby hates the car, struggling going anywhere

Any advice? My 6mo boy hates the car, if I am lucky he can handle 10 minutes but most of the time he starts crying after 3-4 minutes. If my partner is with me we can somehow manage a longer trip with multiple stops. Most days I am alone and I feel like I can't go anywhere and I'm stuck at home. Any tips? We have toys, we sing, we play music. We also changed car seat, facing forward or backwards.

Depending on which car seat you have you can put it on the passenger seat if backwards facing and you can turn off the airbag. Baby might be happier if he can see you? I was also told to loosen the nappy before putting them in as the angle they're at can add pressure making it uncomfortable.

Just an fyi it’s illegal to have a 6month old forward facing in the car x

My son did this so I moved him to the front. He was still rear facing, and we have isofix at the front too and we just turned off the airbag. It made driving much less stressful when I was on my own especially since my family lived over an hour away so I was going to see them quite often.
