Side effect of trimethoprim

Anyone found that their baby’s poops are more green and runny/mucousy on trimethoprim?

My little man has been on it since birth and haven’t had this issue.. the only time he’s had runny/mucusy poo is when he’s eaten something containing dairy, soya, egg or almonds… have you considered the possibility of an allergy? For my little boy this was the first sign along with severe eczema flare ups and with soya also swelling of the eyes. We’re awaiting an allergy clinic app now but won’t get that until next year 😵‍💫 he’s my third allergy baby but first with hydro xxx

Never had this with my son when he was on Trimethoprim, as Stacey mentioned I would be querying a food allergy. My son has CMPA, soy and coconut allergy... he gets constipated with mucus in his poop, really bad gas and spots on his face. But food allergies can have a wide range of symptoms. X

We had this at first with trimethoprim but it cleared up in the first week or so. She was started on trimethoprim at 13 weeks so was definitely that and not an allergy to anything else. We were told she might have runny poos at first but if it’s going on long term, maybe speak to your paediatrician just to double check what’s up x
