Dating scan at BWH

Got my letter saying the same yesterday!! Never knew there was such thing as a 4 hour appointment.. following this to see answers🥹 (first timer)

Hey, I had my baby back in due there and my dating scan was last November I can’t remember If the letter said 4 hours but I was there for about 30 minutes xx

Girl mine lasted way longer. After the scan if you have to wait to see a consultant to look over your scan and take urine samples and stuff you will literally wait the whole day. Take a snack.

Yes it took around 4 hours Went at 10 n was back just in time for school

Are you under a consultant? Sometimes you go for the scan then have to go round to antenatal clinic to see your consultant. I wouldn’t say you’d be there 4 hours but I have been there maybe 2 hours before when I’ve had a scan and consultant appt x

The longest appointment I had was my growth scan which is around 20 weeks I think, my dating scan was only quick 🤷🏼‍♀️

3-4 hours, depends on how many people there and how many consultants working. You have the scan, then go see midwife for urine sample and a few checks and then go see consultant.

Thank you everyone for replying. Yes, I’m under a consultant. Not sure why. With my first, the whole appointment lasted max 40 mins including the urine sample. So, it seemed a bit odd. I wanted to take my toddler with me but I suppose it’s not a good idea.

I had mine a few weeks ago and was there 5 hours, I took my toddler but he was ok tbh, my partner took him for a walk, he had a bit of a run around and he ended up having a nap in his pushchair x

I think it depends on how busy they are, so the time slot is so you know how much time to spare, I was in mine for about two hours with the scan & then blood tests etc

Wow this is crazy, I was there for about 40 mins, blood tests afterwards too
