“It’s just colics”

My baby is now 13 weeks. Has been crying everyday for an hour around 5-6 pm and it seemed like started to die down but it’s back.. He’s on formula and has been very gassy since birth but doc keeps saying its just colics, or growth spurt or leap as if there’s nothing to do… i’m honestly desperate. My instinct tells me there’s more to that but his doc honestly isn’t concerned at all. She said we shouldn’t change formula and just wait … which we did for the past 7 weeks…any moms who had colic babies here?

He only cries for an extended period around late afternoon? I would honestly take gas into consideration. I would swirl to mix his bottles like mini tornado inside, don't shake the bottles & see if this stops the crying. If not I wouldn't think about switching formula if it's only for 2-3 hours a day he is crying. If he's otherwise happy I wouldn't be further concerned.

My LB is the same but it would be for 4 hours non stop! Honestly it most likely will be colic there’s a think called PURPLE crying you can look into as well. My doctor says it usually is a waiting game til they’re about 4 months. It’s totally normal for babies to have this on and off as shitty as it is. Another thing it could be is reflux/heartburn, my baby has this too as he’ll be fine one second and then boom scream cries the next out of discomfort and this is at anytime of day. Again it’s a waiting game til his lower oesophageal sphincter develops fully to stop/reduce this but he said there is baby gaviscon that I could try (but we opted not to as want to wait til what he’s like at 4months and see if he’s the same). Hang in there. It’s not painful for them just uncomfy and they just want to be held through it

Mine had reflux, I’d look into that.

Mylicon drops and windi sticks are what we used to help my baby's gas pain. Another thing that helped was sleeping on the tummy during the day when I could watch her. I hope you find something to help your baby.

My baby had purple crying from ~6 weeks to 3 months. There was nothing I could do. I baby wore, got good headphones, and cleaned the house. My husband and I took shifts. Hang in there. It gets better ❤️

My girl was the same but would pretty much cry and arch her back most of the time but more in the evening (trapped gas). She also had runny nappies and an occasional red rash, so she was prescribed a hypoallergenic milk (nutramigen) for suspected mild CMPA and it all stopped within a few days! She does still have reflux too so is on separate medication for that x

Does sound quite like gas, a warm bath, bicycle legs, gripe water is what we do and baby wear a lot during the day. We are going to try coleif drops doo x
