Baby scratching chest in the bath

Hi! My baby scratches her chest whenever we get her undressed. Usually if we give her a toy to hold or sometimes we put socks over her hands so that she can’t scratch. She has eczema and is being treated with some creams. Anyway, when it comes to bath time, it’s hard to stop her scratching so again we put socks on her hands however now she’s started sucking the water out of the socks and it feels like it’s a really gross thing for her to be doing 😂 she’s 6 months old and I’m wondering if anyone knows anything we can use/do to stop her scratching or to put on/in her hands to stop her being able to scratch while she’s in the bath?

Electric baby nail files are amazing really stops little ones from doing any damage from scratching that way you won’t need to worry about covering her hands 💖

My son was like this too. He has severe eczema since 3 months and is 2 years now. Make sure nails are trimmed but honestly bath times were such a chore at the beginning because he always scratched and could never enjoy them. Now hes at a better place but a lot of distraction with toys or singing, keep the baths short and apple cider vinegar baths help with the itch but I am not sure how young they can be to start that. Best of luck. 💕

@Alison we do have one, I can never seem to get them short enough though 😂 still has little claws!🥴🥰

@Abz thankyou, never heard anyone recommend acv for baths but I will look into that 🥰 thankyou x

its similar to bleach baths
