Newborn Routines with Siblings

Mums with 2 under 2, how are you coping with routine throughout the day for your toddler? Are we all just muddling through atm or has someone figured out how to manage solo parenting bath/bedtimes?! 😭😣

I could of wrote this myself. Currently just trying to wing it. It's so hard cause the baby doesn't want to be put down so I'm struggling to find time for my LG the mum guilt is so real. Just hoping it gets easier x

@Laura the Mum guilt is intense. I feel like screen time and snacks are just taking over and I don’t know how to manage it!! I’m hoping it gets easier as the newborn gets older 🙏🏼 x

@Dani yup that's exactly the same as me. And I feel so bad for plonking her infrotn of the tv but I have no other options. Hang in there we got this xx

Daytimes are OK, if my newborn is in the carrier she’s generally fine. Solo bedtimes are variable. I’ve done about 6 or 7 now and each one has been different. Some have been really smooth, some have ended with all of us crying! I think it’ll be easier when the newborn has a routine. My two are 6 weeks and 2 next week.

@Laurie night times are my fear I get so anxious. My little boy cries and wakes my 17 month old sometimes and then I have them both to deal with. I find it so overwhelming. I know you shouldn't wish their life away but I can't wait till he is abit older and sleeping lol xx

@Laurie how to you manage the bedtime? I’m unsure how I’m supposed to put the toddler to bed and sort the baby with feeds etc! My newborn hates being out down so I guess wearing the sling would be the best option? Xx

@Laura it’s honestly different each time. Sometimes the sling, sometimes I try and feed the baby while toddler is in the bath, or while I’m singing him to sleep. Sometimes I try and put the baby down in another room for a few minutes if my toddler needs some 1-1 time. It’ll get easier when the baby has some routine x
