Is this normal?

So I always knew I had PCOS growing up but it never bothered me enough to get it checked. My period was always every 6-7 weeks and 3-4 days long, had heavy flow the first day and it slowed down after. After I had my son, it was super irregular in terms of how often I got it and how long it stayed. December of 2023 was my last period until yesterday. My doctor has me trying stuff to get it back and it finally happened yesterday night. Today I went through 8 super tampons in 7 hours, bleed down my legs otw home from work, and having really huge blood clots. Like I’ve never seen them this big before. Is this normal since it’s my first one in almost 11 months? Are they all going to like this going forward?

I would go months/years without periods prior to having children and had never had a period that heavy I would say maybe go to the doctor if you’re concerned - that seems like a lot? If you have continued heavy periods on a regular basis it also has health impacts like your iron levels could be affected from all the blood loss etc

It sounds like your possibly haemorrhaging, I’ve had this before with a period that turned nasty - I’d definitely go to the GP x

I would call your Dr. And also use pads and not tampons so you can track the amount better abd be able to tell them. It does not sound normal.
