How do you deal with homesickness?

Mamas whose family is in another country - how do you deal with being homesick? I am coming back to Canada after seeing my family overseas and I feel heartbroken. After every visit it starts to feel worse. I didn’t used to be so homesick but after having kids I miss my country and my family. My husband has turned out to be abusive and I have started to regret my move here. He was my main reason for moving to Canada. If I divorce him, I’m still stuck here forever and it causes me tremondous pain. I don’t know how to change this for the better.

Why would you be stuck there forever? Why can’t you just move back home?

Aww I feel your pain. I moved here from over seas and I'm homesick every day .yeah it's still new only been here 6 months but i struggle alot every day. My routine my friends my family. . I'm.here with my husband and kids as his family moved here years ago but they all hate me and I'm.never made to feel like family so it's been difficult 😕

@Cheyenne Can’t move with the kids without his permission

Yea but you can get divorced under ground of abuse, use that in the factor of child custody to get primary custody and present the need of both of your best instrest to move back to your home country. It’s not impossible.

And depending on his relationship as a father it’s not unheard of for people to give up custody in exchange for not paying child support. Like I’m not telling you what to do. Just that there’s different options.

Your story sounds like mine. I've been here 4 years. I have no friends here. My in laws either arent close with me or theyre toxic. I last went back home for 5 weeks with my LO in the spring. It's especially hard for me in November and December for holidays. I end up wishing my LO could experience my family holidays. I skype home once a week.
