Quieter moving days without panicking?

My baby girl is mostly very active. I’m 24 + 2, and her movements aren’t exactly regular but there is a lot of them. However today she’s been a little quieter. I’ve had this before a week or so ago and the next day she was back to being a big old wriggle - am I just being paranoid?

I get like this usually on a weekend when I'm out of my usual routine! Normally I panic and then he wakes up later in the evening! My midwife said to try get used to knowing if he moves when I sit/lie down, drink caffeine, eat etc. And then if I'm ever worried about movements try do one of those things and see what happens.

I’m 27 weeks and had this too. I went in for reduced movements and midwife said babies don’t create routines until after 28 weeks so some days they can be quieter or movement may be different but apparently this is completely normal which was reassuring to know. However if you’re worried, it’s definitely worth ringing and getting checked just to give you some peace of mind. I’ve had to go in twice since 24 weeks! Things that have helped me sometimes is drinking iced water, eating some food and even just doing some jumping jacks to try get them to move position. Hope that helps a little x

I went in yesterday for reduced movement @ 25 weeks, I had similar feedback as Megan that they don't form a true pattern until 28weeks. They were in a completely different position yesterday to where they normally are though... today has been back to 'normal' But if you have any worries ring you triage, as my sister said to me they are there to support you and no question or worry is a silly or stupid one!! Xx

You’re not being paranoid. My baby has had me in hospital more times than I can count and I’m only 28 weeks. She went 2 weeks without any movement previously. I was back in yesterday as I hadn’t felt her for 2 days. I’ve been told that no movement, or reduced movement in 24 hours, then you need to go and get checked. It is frustrating because when I ask them why I can go so long with no movement, they just say it’s too early for any pattern. Basically they can’t give an explanation. It is frustrating having to go in all the time but I guess it’s better to be checked than wait and hope you feel movements again

I've noticed mine doesn't move a lot when I've spent a lot of time in the car that day, I think the vibration of the car just makes him sleep a lot🤷🏼‍♀️ my first would literally sleep all day and then spend all night doing an Irish jig on my bladder😂 Definitely ring triage if you're worried about movements though, they're so lovely and will help you out straight away. I went in constantly with my first for reduced movements and pains and allsorts. They've heard it all so won't ever think you're being paranoid or silly😊

I had this last week and went in for a checkup. They confirmed baby was facing my back, which is why movements felt reduced and softer. I have since learnt that everyone has this 24/25 week fear, which is quite reassuring!
