Independent Play

My baby is SO good at independent play. I can plonk him on the floor and just let him play for ages. He likes crawling around, pulling himself up and playing with the little toys I have dotted around. I feel bad because I don’t actually play mic with him? I do the odd peek a boo etc here and there but I don’t really play with him much as he seems so content. I feel like a bad mum though! How much do you play with your babies and what do you do with them?

My little girl plays independently. If she comes to me I play with her but I don't personally feel like a bad mum if I don't play with her but she's happy. I think independent play is really important and a sign of being content.

oo i love sone times for myself dont feel bad hun x we are doing more then that

We are exactly the same!! I leave him to play independently and if he comes over to me I’ll interact with him and his toys. I do his board books and flap books with him too. Mostly I sit and build his blocks!! x

Mine is the same, shes thankfully really good at playing so I try and get as many chores done as I can and then I’ll sit her on my lap and do some songs or books or just have a cuddle or tickle etc but most of the playing with toys she does by herself

Used to feel the same, but sometimes my boy just very busy with his toys he just so into it, but when he come to me I play with him For mom guilt feeling I dealing with it by put up 1-2 hours before bed that I put fully attention with him we cuddle, I put some soft toy in bed so we can play a bit, do bed time story It s a quality time for both baby and me So if I felt I lack out during the day I know before bed we have our quality time before bed
