My sons been the same, it’s horrible to see. Offering some water after solids is helping us a lot and I do try to give prunes (few spoons) as a little desert most days to help keep things moving. I wanted to postpone weaning too but got told it’s all part of the process so no matter if it’s now or In 3 months time they have to get used to it soo best to keep at it but offer high fibre foods x
@Lottie this is so true, it’s all part of the process. My health visitor told me, baby’s who have never suffered constipation usually suffer worse when weaning as their bodies have never had to work hard to poo which makes it harder for you to see when you’ve never felt with constipation constantly with a baby. My son was an extremely constipated newborn-3 month old but hasn’t had too many issues in weaning so I think it really is the case of you get it at some point no matter what Xx
Is he drinking cooled boiled water after meals (only a little, not a crazy amount)? If he’s already on water, prunes really help.
Prunes! Or P fruits! Weetabix and water will help 🥰
Cooled boiled water with a drop of pure orange juice or apple juice works wonders x
Is he taking water as well as food? Water might help a little
My girl was a bit constipated yesterday she managed to go properly by end of the day but just incase it happens again I've got prune puree that should hopefully help her out a bit
Prunes? My boys tummy’s always been abit all over but fresh food boiled to soften and not necessarily the ones in a packet, are a lot better for them however giving him prunes out of a packet always helped him go the following day several times. Because he’s now used to weaning I’ve had to remove prunes as I think it over works him now but definitely helped him go when he struggles. Also adding a little water to their diet, water helps constipation Xx
