Larger bump

Is anyone else's bump measuring a couple of weeks ahead with their first baby?

Mine was measuring on the 90th percentile at 28 weeks, midwife wasn't overly worried though and said she'd look more at the trend of growth rather than one off measurements 😊 x

With my first pregnancy I always measured 2/3 weeks ahead, my little girl was born 39+4 at 6lb 15 this pregnancy I’m measuring 5 weeks ahead. Take it with a pinch of salt.

I’m currently 32 weeks, measuring 3 weeks ahead but the growth charts are all fine and nobody seems concerned. Every time I tell anyone who’s had kids before always tells me to take it with a pinch of salt. I will say, I also have a bigger bump than others at a similar stage as me, so I do think baby is quite big (legs on the 97th percentile) but again, I’m told not to worry.

Currently 31weeks today had midwife yesterday and was told I’m measuring 33weeks but no concerns for this. This is my first and my partner is 6ft4 so no doubt probs all legs😂😬& my bump is quite big even for myself being 5ft7🙃

Mine did with my last baby and he always measured 90th centile on growth scans, but was born around 50th centile at 8lb 1. I take bump measurements/growth scan measurements with a pinch of salt 😅

I'm really confused about this as I was expecting it. At no point during my pregnancy has anyone measured my bump. I don't know if maybe because I have a high BMI already there's not much point. I haven't been weighed since my booking appointment either

@Holley usually they measure from the top of your bump to your pubic bone I believe during your 28 week antenatal and then they do it continuously after that. I don’t think your BMI should matter when it comes to measuring the bump maybe enquire about it at your next antenatal🙂

@Danielle nope I've had nothing and I'm 31 weeks now

I’m currently 28 + 4 and I’m measuring at 31 weeks so not a massive difference and midwife said she will monitor the trend it’s common to be just under or just over the amount of weeks you are.

@Holley oh wow that’s strange. Perhaps request for your bump to be measured at your next antenatal as it’s within your rights if you want it measured x
