Colicky baby

Hiya. So I'm asking this for a friend. Her baby boy I think is 9 weeks now and he's been badly colic since birth. He's gotten worse and really poorly with it and it pretty much only sleeping with her or on her. They've tried coleif, infacol, just started giving him paracetamol as recommend by the hospital and some stuff for diarrhea cause he's getting it really badly. She's hardly getting sleep cause her boy's up constantly. I'm really worried about them and have no clue what to do or what she can give him or stuff like that to help him settle. She's up crying every night and it kills me that she's going through that when I've had it so easy with my little girl. Just got no clue what to do

i’m not too sure on the age recommendations for gripe water, but mommy bliss night time gripe water did WONDERS for us. i have also heard (i haven’t tried it myself) that mixing in chamomile tea into their bottles helps them tremendously as well

i know lots of women though who did the chamomile tea trick

first of all, i love that you’re asking to try and help! so i have heard people say for mom to try not having dairy cuz it could be a lactose allergy, i have also heard of baby chiropractors!!! personally my baby girl was super colicky from 4 weeks on and it didn’t get better until she was just past four months. if she was awake she was crying. i did everything that was recommended, would give her these meds, and nothing would work. as the friend what you could do is if you can, taking over rocking or trying to settle baby for even just 30 mins to give mama a break. it was the hardest thing to get through, but it does get better. my girl is 6 months now and the happiest little girl there is! remind her that she’s doing amazing and it’s not her fault that baby is crying

@Janessa Sadly tried gripe water too. That hadn't worked either

@Kaitlyn Sorry, I forgot to say she's had to bottle feed because of her meds

And were both in temporary accommodation and can't go in each other's flats. I would like so badly to help look after her boy for her and give her a rest but sadly can't do that here

Mt daughter was kicked out of 3 daycare because hers was so bad and became a distraction. So the only thing that helped was holding baby face down across your arms head closer to elbow with legs across arms. Play white sound specifically the baby in the moon the sound is like that of what was heard in the womb. Also a baby rub they sale it's purple lavender rub found in baby section and apply on foot and wrist . So hold baby as a football would be carried with white noise . Water grip , oil

@Janessa I’ve been using grip water on my girl since 7 weeks. She just turned 9 weeks yesterday so I think it’s safe!

Have they tried different formulas? Specifically a sensitive tummy one like Enfamil Gentlease? Also a probiotic is super important to help them have a good amount of good bacteria in the gut as their digestive tract is still developing. Also the type of bottle they use is important and a bottle like Dr Browns lessens the amount of air baby takes in while drinking. Have baby sit up for at least 30 minutes after each feed so acid reflux can settle.

@Janessa mommy bliss says 2 weeks. Currently using it
