Tailbone/ coccyx

Hi, Is anyone else experiencing terrible pain in their tailbone/coccyx?. Twice recently, I've been in agonising pain when sitting or bending down. Gave birth 15 weeks ago.

Mine is unrelated to this pregnancy/childbirth as it actually started about 3 years ago but it is SO painful sometimes. I actually can't sit on normal chairs. Even a short car journey can be really uncomfortable. Since I've had this baby my lower back is now also terrible and there have been at least 1 occasion every week where I can't actually straighten my spine or walk for the whole day. I have to take antiinflammatories all the time 🥲

@Amanda have you tried a coccyx cushion?

I had a lot of coccyx pain after my previous birth, I think it was from laying on my back for forceps, I had a water birth this time and was upright and not had the same issues. I saw an osteopath for a couple of sessions and the pain disappeared, I really recommend it.

Did you have a difficult labour?

@Amanda Hey, are the anti-inflammatory tablets pre scribed by the doctors?. I'm assuming mine is hurting from birth?. No idea but the pain is extremely painful. I've been struggling to get around. The pain shoots through my coccyx. Hurts if I put pressure on my coccyx too. Last time the pain lasted 24hours. X

@Fatima I had a quick labour. I had trauma to my bladder to. X

@Lauren Thank you. X

I had coccyx pain in first pregnancy 2021, then again it came back last/this year. I don’t seem to notice a lot now , probably easing off. But I still do get pain if I sit down a lot. Ugh 😩 hated it so much. I often try not to seat for too long in same position

@Kim have you only got the one child? We're any of your labpirs traumatic?

@Raccoon Really hope my pain eases in time. It's only flared up twice so far. I can't get on the floor and struggle to get up from the toilet. Walking and standing are all I can do. X

@Fatima I have 2 children. My labour's were fine. My 2nd baby, his birth, was just very quick. I've had a difficult PP due to an undiagnosed pregnancy condition that led me to haemorrhage 2 days after birth. I needed surgery twice due to left placenta x

@Kim thank you for the information. The reason I asked is because what you're explaining is a trauma symptom. We hold our emotions in our body and childbirth trauma causes sharp shooting pain in your coccyx. May be something to consider

@Fatima That's interesting. How do you suggest helping the problem? X
