Confirmation appt

My last OB saw me as soon as I got a positive test to confirm my positive test at 5 weeks (I do know this is earlier than most offices do) and then saw me at 7/8 weeks for an ultrasound. My new OB office says they don’t see you until you’re 10-11 weeks along. Is this normal or later than most?

That seems a little later but it should depend on your last period. The general rule of thumb is 8 weeks after your last period.

I was told that when I was not an established patient. If you were already a patient, then you could be seen sooner like 6-8 weeks

@Jacqueline same. I was trying to be sneaky & go elsewhere but I ended up having to go to my regular ob for immediate care. Even then they only tell you you’re less than 8 weeks & tell you to come back

That’s normal, I never got seen till 10w for confirmation cause they like to wait and do an ultrasound

Ok thank you! I am not an established patient with them yet. They postponed my original appt and pushed it from Oct 7 to Nov 21st. I’ve been waiting since January to get in with them. (They’re supposedly the best OB in my area so very sought after). I called just to check if I got pregnant this month that they would still see me. (I didn’t know if we should postpone TTC this month and wait until after my appt) They said they would still see me and their policy is 10-11 weeks out from last period so maybe not come in Nov 21st but could still be a patient. So just wanted to check if that was crazy late.
