Restless leg syndrome

I'm 30 weeks and have had the worst RLS at night before falling asleep since 28 weeks. At first compression socks helped! Now they don't at all :( I've tried every size/compression there is. Last night I tried a bath and heating pad and that failed too. Anyone else have this? What works for you?

This is me too! My Dr said it sounded like it was sciatica-associated, which also gets worse at night/end of the day. She recommended magnesium supplements in addition to my prenatal and it’s helped so much

@Isabella that's the one thing I haven't tried! Thank you so much!! ❤️

Magnesium can help, as suggested above. I read an article the other day that said RLS is known to be more common in pregnancy but the cause is unknown 😭 i looked at that going "that's... so... helpful" 🙃

@Christina right??? 😂 I read that too I was like "well that's great." 😂 It's so worth the struggle for my beautiful son but I PRAY it goes away after I deliver I am getting no sleep! Lol!

@Elise sleep? What's that? Sounds like a foreign concept lol. Between my pelvic pain, the RLS, and getting up to pee every 2 hours? I don't know why i even bother with a bed 😂

I’ve dealt with really bad RLS since the beginning of the 2nd trimester. My doctor recommended magnesium and calcium supplements and although they help a little, it was still soo bad that I couldn’t sleep. What I’ve found that works for me is doing leg workouts every night before bed to tire my legs out. Also if you have a massage gun, and massage your legs at night, that has helped as well.

I have this. I thought it was my anxiety this whole time🤣. I’m going to talk to my doctor about it during my next visit.

Magnesium helps a little but benadryl helps me get to sleep if I'm desperate

Magnesium cream was the only thing for me when it was hormone caused. Also want to add that in my experience my RLS flared badly when I was lower on iron! Not to say that's your cause bc hormones are crazy haha. But there is a link, something to keep in mind if nothing is working after cream, after birth etc. I feel your pain. RLS is the wooorst.

I had this with my first pregnancy and now with my second. I find walking for thirty minutes seems to help a lot before bed. Best of luck!
