Tounge tie

Hey, my 12 week old has just had his done. Is it causing problems with feeding? It definitely looks like she has one but it depends how much it’s affecting her feeding wether they will cut it or not

@Chloe so the past two week she has been extremely gassy and uncomfortable she is making that clicking noise when feeding. She coming on and off the breast constantly. Still feeding every 2 hours for only 5 minutes. She is struggling to sleep as her gas is making if hard to slettle and stay asleep xx

They said mine had it but it doesn’t look exactly like your baby’s the gp said I shouldn’t worry about it it won’t affect him much and breastfeeding him will help

@Marie it’s very likely they will cut it then. So basically they do an assessment with baby while your there and give a score for how it looks and the functionality out of 10. If your struggling with feeding and baby had a bad latch and has the gas ect they ask you if you want it done. I was like yes definitely so they did it there and then it was really quick. He’s feeding soooo much better now I’ve not had to wind him once! He only had it done yesterday so has fed quite abit because he’s been abit unsettled but hopefully he will chill soon! They have to learn how to latch with their new tongue so it takes a few days abit like at the start when they are newborns x
