Making lasagne 🥴 fail?! Rant.

Sorry to post in this group, i dont know where else. And my 15 month old will be eating this too 😆. I've just had a f#ck moment as I'm cooking and it's not my best achievement.. and the jar says to fry 500g Mince beef but it's too much for me and 2 toddlers so I've only done 250g approx. Which means I should do only half the jar of sauce right? Well I poured the whole jar in like a tw@t. I don't know if my lasagne will taste like a$ now 😭 I usually like a lot of sauce but will our dinner be a flop cause of this error I've made? Xx

Hahaha not at all ruined nor will it taste like a$! 😂 You can take away some sauce without taking some of the mince or let it simmer down until it’s pretty thick and it should be fine! Or you could fry the rest of the beef, add it in and make a bigger batch? Freeze half for another week?

@Sharnee I'm having a right laugh. It's in the oven now but I did simmer it for 20 mins, so sauce thickened up. Thank you for your suggestion. I was going to use all the beef but my partner suggested to split it up and put other half in freezer for other meals but next time I do lasagne I'll cook it all and batch freeze! Thank you, your reply saved my sanity ☺️xx

Haha I hope it tasted delicious! I’ve had one too many fails in the kitchen 😅

Oh you know what, I have never used a jar of sauce for any kind of pasta dish.. just a massive jar of passata with my own mix of herbs and such.. obviously a jar of passata doesn’t say how much to use in any dish so I just do what I want and a whole jar (600g ish) gets used each time and nothing ever goes bad.. sometimes with lasagne if you don’t pre soak the pasta sheets then the extra sauce will come in handy! How did it go?

@Shay sorry for the late reply. Good idea with the passata sauce. And other than the corners of my pasta sheets being uncooked and crunchy it didn't taste bad. The dish I used was too big for the amount I made and it looked such a mess. Will take note of pre-soaking the pasta 😋x
