UC once a year, idk if there's a maximum income or if there's a discount if there is. Usually NHS vouchers that cover it if you're on UC I think. Call an Opticians and ask, they'll help x
They do free eye checks on UC and £50 voucher towards glasses
They do free checks and vouchers for glasses if on UC at Specsavers that’s where I go x
Yes free test on UC, depends when you had one last time?
Not sure about the funding but I spoke to an optician friend because I also think I need an eye test in pregnancy and she said there's no point until after baby arrives because your eye sight will change in and after pregnancy. Might be worth waiting until little one arrives so you don't waste your money.
@Sophie like 7 years ago before I was on UC
@Fran felt like it was getting worse before this pregnancy ( due to age lol)
Hope you can get it sorted
Yep you get free eye test om UC
You’re not supposed to get your eyes tested because pregnancy can change your vision and then it changes again after having the baby so you may end up spending money on an incorrect prescription
@Kirsty you are supposed to get them tested if needed. I wouldn't be able to drive if I didn't.
Sadly the nhs exemption one doesn’t cover your eye sight at all. I asked my optician and I was told that it doesn’t. I think if you’re on UC it might. Give your opticians a call and just ask I’m sure they’ll be happy to help x
Hey! I am on uc and I went for an eye test Wednesday, it was completely free and if you need glasses/newglasses you get a voucher, the value depends on the strength glasses you need x
Yes as you're on UC

Thank you everyone!
If it's free I might as well get it tested, If I need glasses I then could wait after birth! But they surley won't get better after birth if they've been like this before my first birth/ after birth and now in my second pregnancy :)
Hey! Yes, if you're on Universal Credit (UC) and meet certain criteria, you may be entitled to free eye tests through the NHS. Maternity exemption also covers some dental and optical services, so you should check if you're eligible. You can get your eye test at any optician that provides NHS services. Just let them know about your situation, and they can guide you through the process. Hope that helps!
Don't think so just dentist and prescription free
