Postpartum bath

Has anyone waited until their 6week appointment to take a bath or did you take one before your 6week appointment? I had a vaginal birth and a 1degree tear. I’m 5 weeks postpartum but my appointment is 2 weeks away. I’ve been wanting to take a bath so bad due to these postpartum body aches. I can’t remember if my doctor said to wait until that appointment or not, I was going to call and check. Anyone else waited?

I had a 2nd degree tear and I’m only 3 weeks postpartum. My discharge papers say shower and bathe as normal. So I’d think it’d be okay if you take a bath.

I was wondering the same thing my dr didn’t mention sure it’s in the discharge papers but I have yet to read it only looked at baby girl’s paperwork then my uncle passed away 2 days ago in his home between and trying to keep up with feedings and sleep my brain has been scattered… I’ve showered but scared to take a bath I got 2 tears on my libia during healing my clitoris is sore libia tore on each corner near clitoris. I gave birth on my hands and knees

I’m waiting until I’m medically cleared for baths, swimming, sex, and working out. I don’t want to risk infection.

Pretty certain my midwife’s ran me a bath at my appointment within a couple days after I gave birth and I took one every couple days thereafter. I had a second (“almost 3rd”) degree tear. It was a huge part of my self care and healing process.

I hoped in the tub as soon as I got home. Hot water has always been pain therapy for me. I had a vaginal birth and tearing. I had no issue and made sure I was drying out down there. (You don’t want it to stay wet/ bacteria can form in damp dark places) so fan your self out after and your clean and good 🤎
