Contractions

I was having contractions 5-6 minutes apart for about 2.5 hours and now they’ve become about 10-12 minutes apart. Is this normal? I’m 41+1 today. Water hasn’t broken yet, but I had a sweep earlier today and I’m 3cm dilated. With my last baby, contractions started when my water broke and they were consistent every 3 minutes until I had my baby, so this is very different for me lol

Iam 40+6 days ..no pains yet! Doc called me in for induction tomorrow and this is my 1st one..I have no idea how it’s gonna be! 🥴

@Snj mine is tomorrow! They offered it today but I was having contractions so I said let’s hold off and see if it happens naturally 🫠

Were the contractions after your sweep? If so it may have just been as a result of that and not true labour

@Kay yes they were. But they were true contractions, not just cramps. I was in the hospital and they were tracking them on the machine, and I went from 2cm at my sweep to 3cm in hospital. I also had 2 sweeps before this with nothing

Does sweep hurts?

@Snj For some people yes, for others no. Personally I have a low pain tolerance so I find them painful but they only last about 6-8 seconds so it’s bearable!

Even I have low pain tolerance..5-6 sec sounds ok! Iam thinking if nothing worked they will end up doing c sec so all that will go in vain!
