Struggling

My baby is 5 weeks old and is incredibly fussy, and it’s gotten worse. The constant whinging whenever she’s not physically on me , and sometimes even when she is, is really really getting to me. I’ve found myself swearing at her then hating myself afterwards. I tried settling her by breastfeeding tonight and she suckled til she fell asleep, but then she vomited it everywhere, it even came out her nose. So then I had to put her down to change the sheets which of course made her scream. My partner isn’t home til later after his shift and my patience has just run out. I need 10 minutes of not holding my baby when she’s not screaming.

Hey, I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling! Can you ask family or someone to help you out? do you have a baby bouncer or can you baby wear her so that at least your hands are free?

The newborn stage really is hard. Just try and take a deep breath and leave her somewhere safe for a few minutes whilst you catch your breath when you need it. I also have a very fussy baby, who is always crying unless feeding or sleeping. The crying really is draining sometimes, when you feel like there’s nothing you can do that works. You’re not alone! Sometimes I just want to cry myself (and often I have) It will get easier. We’ve got this!!

You’ve got this mumma! Completely understand what you’re feeling, you’re feeling touched out and need a few minutes to yourself to feel like you’re a separate human! Don’t feel bad or guilty for that. It’s so hard when they’re being fussy and you have no idea what to do to soothe. You’re not alone 🩵

@Finleigh She doesn’t like the bouncer yet , and yes I baby wear most of the day. My family are coming to stay next week so I’ll get some help then and I can’t wait. My husband works a lot, and we need the money so I can’t complain, but I’m at home and with two small children every day and it’s so mentally and physically exhausting

@Lola my first was so chilled in the day but really hard at night. This one is the opposite and when she’s asleep does much longer stretches. But when she’s awake she’s such hard work
