Growth

Hey - I got told I need an induction due the growth being 40 grams under than what he should be but I declined and asked for another scan in two weeks. I have just had that scan and now they’re saying he’s grown too much so I need an induction??? To me it just looks like the scan on the 25th September was not correct? What is everyone’s thoughts ???

These are usually inaccurate. Is your baby in the right position for birth? Did they explain the risks, what would happen if you did nothing and what alternatives were there?

@Roberta yeah he is head down! They said to basically get him out before anything happens like stillborn. His movements have been fine though?

I’m sorry they said this to you, that’s horrendous. I think your chart looks pretty normal to me, as said they can be very inaccurate. On the other hand, my last scan showed baby was 5 pounds 8 at 39 weeks and she hadn’t grown since 37 weeks so induction was the right thing for us. I’d call and ask to have it explained properly so you can make an informed decision xx

I was told as long as baby is inside the lines you’re fine. I’m sorry they’re scaring you like this. Shouldn’t be doing that to you, as long as you feel normal movements, baby is head down they’re in the right position. Not sure why they can’t let nature do the rest. They need to explain a real medical reason for wanting to do this to you. 40gms under when those tests are inaccurate isn’t enough of a reason. Xx

My scan was pretty accurate my little one walks 2.5kg in scan and at birth so I always think better to be safe than sorry x
