Prams

What kind of prams has everyone bought or looking to buy? I’ve left this last minute and now stressing about what I should get. I’m looking at the Ickle bubba bundles that have the 3 in 1 pram, does anyone recommend it? Or any other suggestions 😅

@India I’ve gone for this too in the Pebble grey!! Love the one handed fold and how compact it folds too!!

I’m looking at getting the ickle bubba one as it looks good

Also looking at joie, cybex and nuna. Warming towards travel system

I ended up getting mothercare journey edit pram/ pushchair that comes with the carry cot then the pushchair attachment and clips for thr car seat . Cost £300

The ickle bubba one I’m getting is like £200 and something

Bugaboo Fox 5, I worked for a nursery retailer years ago, so I knew what I wanted 🤣

I have Mama’s & Papa’s Ocarro 🥰

I’ve got the Venicci Tinum Edge. Got a bundle with a maxi cosi car seat & isofix base.

Ickle Bubba is obviously attractive because of the price but be aware it is to the lower end for quality, Which? rates a few of them as "don't buy". I bought a higher end pram & bassinet bundle second hand on facebook marketplace for £170. I went for the xt3 flip as it was easy to get a replacement mattress for the bassinet on mamas & papas website, think that was about £30. The car seat is the only bit you genuinely need to buy new. I spent £200 on a new 360 i-Spin by joie, went for that one because highly rated and because the spin feature was more important to me than being able to attach the car seat to a pram base. Hope that helps! Facebook marketplace is a bit of a godsend.

Maxi Cosi Fame 🥰

@Jade what made you think this one was the best please?

We have gone for the nuna mixx next, we tried a bunch in the store and really liked how well it moved and how easy it was to fold. It’s our one big splurge, getting most other stuff second hand!

We also when for the Nuna mixx next! Found it lighter compared to the bugaboo / silver cross etc, but soo easy to move especially on tough terrain!

I’ve gone for the i candy peach 🍑 I won’t be using it often so just got a second hand one xx

Checked out a silly amount of prams in shops ;) and if you're unsure I'd say it's something definitely worth 'touching' before buy. Options are endless, we were advised to go 'touch' and consider what do we actually need from a pram- is it heavy, does it fold one hand and with the seat attached, will we want to use it travelling abroad, will it fit in our car boot, are wheels for city only or mixed use and if has good shock absorption from terrain etc etc. Initially we wanted Ickle Bubba travel system but once tried and touched in shop decided that Nuna, Venicci or Peg Perego systems suited our lifestyle and expectations better. Everyone around me wanted me to buy new but... I went to look for a second hand on Vinted and have an amazing barely used Peg Perego with all the accessories for fraction of the cost, then dropped for two days at local professional cleaning and job done. Hope you find one that suits you!!!

I have the ickle bubba which I used with my first baby and always been brilliant and still in such good condition which is why I am using it with my second baby

@Stacey that colour is beaut!

I got the meego Milano. I tried it and the noordi fiordi and this was cheaper. They both seem goood for outdoor walks without being too heavy

Fully second what others have said which is go and try a few in store and then buy secondhand for a fraction of the price.

I’m getting what one of my family members had as I know it lasts a while

@Hannah I don’t think it’s the best of all that’s on offer. But to suit our needs I know it has a good reputation and ticks a lot of boxes in terms of durability, practicality etc. I went into the shop to have a good look and have it demonstrated etc. It is on the higher price point and is expensive but the resale of this brand is excellent. My experience of prams was for years selling them but this will be a far different experience of owning one as a parent 🤣 I used to recommend the UPPAbaby Vista to a lot of family and friends, it’s a great pram!

I got kinderkraft prime lite 3in1 I do recommend the nursery store for decent prices and different brands x

Thank you for all the suggestions! Having a look at all of them and hopefully I make a decision by the end of the week 😂 I have decided what car seat though which is progress haha x

If your wanting a car seat with your pram, check the best rated car seat. I have an ocarro pram with a Maxicosi cabriofix car seat , unfortunately baby carriers are not Swedish plus tested . If you join the car seat safety groups on Facebook you will get a lot of good information on there.

@Caley Hill Yeah, I joined a group on Facebook. A lot of the pram bundles ain’t safe apparently so that’s why I’m getting it separate instead. Rather get a car seat that is expensive and then get a cheaper 2 in 1 pram… think I’m more likely to use a baby carrier when I’m out and about

@Jade fab! Thank you xx
