Large baby

Hello All, I’m currently 34w+6. I went for a routine midwife appointment today and my baby is now measuring at 97 centile meaning she’s very large. two weeks ago I was measured and she was with in the normal range so they are sending me for another glucose test even though the one I did two weeks ago was normal and I have to go for a scan. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same as I’m a little bit worried.

I’ve just been through this . I monitored my sugars for a week they will prep you and show you what to do. My results came back non gd . I should know more at my 36 weeks appt

I’m 36w tomorrow and I had 3 GD tests done and was diagnosed at 30w but all my bloods have been fine. My girl has been measuring just above 97th centile since 20w and at 35+2 she was measuring 7lb10. They’ll discuss labour with me at my next scan in a week. I honestly wouldn’t worry, these scans can be really inaccurate as well!

So is it your bump that is measuring large, not from a scan? I wouldn't worry too much, bump measurements are notoriously wrong. Even the same midwife measuring twice can get different measurements, nevermind one midwife to the other. There's no need to be worried, some babies have got to be at the larger end!

It’s hard but try not to worry! I’m in the same boat, had to do a second gtt at 35 weeks and that came back clear. I’m due 6/11 but I have another growth scan at the end of the month and will be meeting with consultant to discuss options. Are you or your baby’s dad tall? My partner is 6’3 and was a big baby so we’re just putting it down to genetics😊 Also there’s always room for error with measurements even with the scans x
