Car seats abroad

Planning to go to Paris next year and wondering what everybody does about car seats?? We’ve not been abroad since having our LO yet (2 yo). We would be travelling more than likely in a taxi from airport to where we’re planning to stay (30min approx) and the same back. LO uses a gracco turn2me atm and rear faces but it’s soooo bulky don’t think we could take it with us and not sure if France has the same isofix ect, any help would be appreciated!!!!

Isofix is the same everywhere but a taxi driver might object to you installing a car seat in their car. Some taxi companies may have an option to order one that comes with a car seat but you'd have to do some research. Also, in some countries, taxies are exempt from the car seat requirement so you can travel with your child in your lap instead. No idea what the law is in France so again, you'd have to do some research The only experience we've had with this sort of issue was in Marrakesh - we ordered an airport taxi with a car seat and one without arrived and we ended up just having our LO in one of our laps. Not the safest option but in a pinch it was ok.

Oh, also worth looking up trains or buses - that's what we usually go for abroad because it solves the car seat problem :)

We got the Eurostar to Paris and walked everywhere - super easy!!! Maybe look at a different hotel location so you only need to book a taxi via the hotel to and from the airport and then walk/use the metro every other journey.

Thankyou both I will try and have a look for buses/coaches instead! Xx

If you're flying to CDG then there's a train (RER B) going from there all the way across Paris. Not sure about Orly but I think there are trains from there as well x

Yes we will be flying to CDG so will have a look at that Thankyou very much! X
