Growth Scan

I'm sure when you have the scan, the baby will be fine I had that in my first pregnancy, their measurements with the midwife are not accurate

I've never had a bump measurement done and I'm 35 weeks. My midwife said everyone's bump is different so she doesn't like to measure unless needed as no two bumps same gestation will be the same

@Rebecca i had a growth scan at 29 weeks and the woman had no problems and sent me back to the midwife’s but i had a new midwife today and she’s now sending me for 1 again, I just feel like im being passed back and forth 😂😂

@Shania i’m quite skinny so i think my bump is just tiny, they instill fear in women and mostly get it wrong🫣

@Remee I'm the same as my bump is tiny. Some midwife's are so old school on practice that they like to make woman panic over something that is normal

We are on a weekly scan since sept due to baby smaller than average. I think they might wait 40 weeks before inducing (if the natural/spontaneous labour did not occur before 40th), to allow more growth for baby. Im no expert, all depends on the progress of the situation x

My baby is measuring very small on scans so likely I'll be induced at some point (currently 35 weeks and trying to push it back as far as possible). As long as there's nothing else showing as an issue you should be fine, ultimately will depend how small they are, mine is 1st percentile.

@Shania sounds like a chilled out midwife :) I think they measure to compare you against yourself though, not so much to compare you against other people, they plot it on a graph so you can see it's getting bigger each visit.

I had growth scans from 32 weeks with my first, they were 2 weeks apart and baby girl dropped on the percentiles each time so I was induced at 37+5 x

I had this last week. Midwife said bump still a little small so had a growth scan at 34+1 He was measuring small (15th percentile) but the scanner said he looks great and just a small baby; nothing to worry about She said it won’t make any difference to my birth plan or birthing naturally etc

@Elle just bloody scares me x
