Laxido

My LB has been prescribed Laxido as he hasn’t been pooping for up to 7 days at a time and becomes increasingly uncomfortable. I have no issue giving it to him, I’ll do anything to make him feel better and I trust the drs to do right by him. On that note, has anyone had to give it to their child/baby before and can you mix it with breastmilk as he is EBF? I have no issue with him having a bottle but because it’s mixed with water, he doesn’t seem to like the taste. Thank you!! 💕

Mine is also prescribed laxido and I just mix it into her formula as the drs advised, would have thought breastmilk would also be okay x

As a paediatric nurse I have only ever given it with water. So you could ask your local pharmacist if you can give it with breast milk however it might put him off a bottle. Another option might be some lactulose which just makes the stool softer and easier to pass (so less discomfort) although it might not make him go more. That’s just 2.5-5ml of syrup x

Thank you both 💕 This was really helpful! I read that you can mix it with milk after but to mix it with water first so might etry that or if it doesn’t work (in terms of 💩), stick it in a calpol syringe and see how he gets on with that 😊
