Baby has tongue tie but gaining weight very quickly?

So I was told as soon as my baby was born he has a ‘mild’ tongue tie as he still has very good movement of his tongue can stick it out etc. He only lost 2% of his birth weight before surpassing it the next week and has continued to gain weight ( he is exclusively breastfed) however, my baby is so unsettled unless he is constantly feeding. What seems to help is giving him a bottle of expressed breast milk otherwise he can be on and off me for 6 hours straight and cry as soon as he’s removed to give me a break - is this typical cluster feeding or something to do with his tongue tie?

I don’t have an answer for you, but I’m experiencing the same thing. We’re 2 weeks pp and exclusively breastfeeding. My little one had tongue tie which was divided this week. I wasn’t sure if he was cluster feeding or if it was because of the tongue tie, but we spent literally all day and night feeding. We’re still doing that because apparently it can take a moment for things to settle down. His birthweight dropped by 10% thought so that could be the reason behind our situation. He also cries as soon as he’s removed from the boob, and it’s the only thing that settles him!

We're going through that too! Today we tried a pacifier between feeds which really helped! I know alot of people don't like to do this but it helped settle her and we just made sure to feed her every couple of hours.

So I’m 26 days pp and my baby did this right at the 2-week mark for at least 2-3 days. It sounds like you’re going through cluster feeding. I think there is supposed to be a growth spurt at the 2-week mark which could explain the constant feeding (it seems like they’re not getting enough milk, but as long as you keep letting them latch and they’re sucking and swallowing, they’re getting enough).
