Pram

Do you still use a pram? If yes, what age do you think is appropriate to stop? If not, at what age did you take your LO out of it? My boy is 2 and a half and I’ll be giving birth just before he turns 3 and I do not think a double pram is necessary at that age.

I do for my little one at the moment. I would suggest a buggy board I know you can get seat ones too as your little one will probably be out of having naps. I would say it also depends on what your daily routine looks like, when we have been abroad or on holiday and will be out late with my first I always brought a buggy for him to sleep in evenings and if we wanted a long walk at 3 years.

I still use one because I don't drive. I do a little shop every week and it's too far for my little girl to walk, plus I need the stroller to carry the shopping for me haha. If we do anything close to home then she walks. The village is too far for her to walk, so we either use the stroller or her trike (if the weather isn't bad). You could try a buggy board x

I'm very similar to you in that my first will be almost 3 when baby arrives but we've gone with buying a double. She's not got great walking stamina and always wants to be carried so don't really fancy trying to carry her and push a pram! Plus my hope is that she'll help entertain the baby in the pram too.

We don't use a pram for our 2 year old anymore as he wanted to start walking more & more. So we let him walk when we are staying local to our house, to just go to the park or the shop. We have a trike thing that my husband's parents bought him for Christmas, so we use that when we are going anywhere on the bus.

We had a baby in August and he hasn't used his pram since then. We have a buggy board with a seat that he loves for when he gets tired of walking. We occasionally take a stroller with us places as a back up but he's not been fussed about going in it really.

We stopped when we had our second because we didn’t want to buy a double. Our LB was 22 months when our LG was born. He’s been absolutely fine and loves to ‘help’ push her 😊

We still use the pram quite regularly and now have a double. I was contemplating not getting one, but toddler is way too reliant on it and it makes it easier to be out with both by myself

O am due next month. We bought a buggy board. If its a short walk I will put baby in pram and toddler walking /buggy board. If its a long walk o can put toddler in pram and baby in sling. I am not buying a double pram atm.

@Conchi but then how would you push the pram and buggy board at the same time? Also wouldn’t the baby get cold in the sling if the toddler is in the pram?

@Medina My toddler also doesn’t like walking and demands to be picked up but I think that’s cos he’s too used to being in the pram so I think I need to slowly get him used to walking from now before the baby comes. If I’m getting on the bus or going far then I’d definitely still put him in the pram.

@Georgia it helps if your toddler likes walking

@Laura My toddler is the same. How about if you have the baby in the pram and have a wrist strap on the toddler so they can be strapped to the pram?

The buggy board is attached to the pram. It had a little seat. Baby in the sling under my coat is the warmest place to be. Warmer than the pram.

@Conchi does it have a backrest and belt? I’m thinking to get a buggy board attached to the pram

We still have a pushchair from when my sone was born 5yrs ago. Has done well and I will use it for my girl for at least another year, as nursery is too far for her to walk and she has no road sense right now. I have a buggy board with seat that my son used when his sister took over the pushchair, but he now walks of cycles.
