Spit up

My little one is about 3 1/2 months and has begun spitting up a lot more in the last few days. It used to be almost never, and today it was 6+ times. He still seems to be in a pretty good mood, and is still peeing and pooping like normal. Is this normal? When should I be concerned?

Breast fed or formula fed? And how much spit up at a time? It’s completely normal for them to begin spitting up more at this age. It just matters how much and the consistency of it. Say ur baby is breastfed and spit up a bunch of stuff that looks like pure water. That’s totally fine bcuz that means she’s keeping down the fatty part of the milk. And she’s spitting up from being formula fed, and it’s a lot, try to burp more often during the feed Also don’t force babe to burp if they’re fighting it, usualllt fight it if they feel they’re gonna spit up. So when this happens give a min and try again

@Karly he's breast and bottle fed with breastmilk. Lately it's seemed like a lot comes up and it's definitely white when it comes up and sometimes looks curdled. I'll definitely keep the burping in mind, thank you!

My girl just started combo feeding and she’s 3 months old I’ve definitely noticed an increase in her spit up. I would tell ur babies doctor tho Incase it’s reflux But some spit up Is normal

I have an 8 week old and he’s been doing this for a couple of weeks. 6+ times in one day isn’t bad. I get that per feed 😪 My doctor told me some babies are just “happy spitters”. As long as he’s gaining weight she isn’t concerned. It drives me insane.

@Alana my first baby was strictly formula fed and he spit up 2-3 times per feed I had to keep a new spit blanket every time I fed him 🤣 I think it’s just cuz they’re not full developed like their tummies and that little thing in the back of their throat isn’t fully grown yet so when they get their bellies full and burp some comes up too 🤣 Usually nothing to be worried about It’s when they’re spitting up all day long big amounts and losing weight where it’s worrisome
