Anyone experience this?

I got a call from my OBGYN today about my ultrasound from 9/23, and they’re wanting to refer me to Maternal and Fetal Medicine to look at baby’s right kidney as they haven’t been able to see it during my ultrasounds. This honestly has me stressed and worried since I’ve been told baby looks good at my dr appointments after I have my ultrasounds or I’ll get a phone call confirming they look good, and now finding this out almost 3 weeks later… 😅

Yikes I’m sorry they’re just now catching this! Hopefully it’s just a matter of MFM having better equipment to see the kidney more clearly 🤍

That’s what I’m hoping! I’m pretty sure they told me at that appointment on 9/23 they found and got everything that they needed too and sent me out on my way. And I was under the presumption that everything was ok by my OB. But the provider on the phone said this is just a precaution, and they’re wanting to get a better look to see if the baby has its right kidney or not. They said my fluid looked good and the baby’s left kidney looks good and is doing good.

Hopefully it’s ok! I was referred to MFM after my 36w growth ultrasound. It was specifically for dilated bowel. But I did the scan today (for 1.5 hours) and they said everything looks normal! They just had to look closer to see if it was outside the range of normal and had better equipment.

I’m glad everything went good and looked normal for you! I’m just having a lot of anxiety about this after getting that phone call this morning, so I’m hoping everything is ok and the baby is just being stubborn, usually at my ultrasounds the baby doesn’t like to move much and be stubborn, so I’ve had to go back and get what they’ve missed done lol.

That makes sense! I’ve had to go to MFM specifically because they’re just more equipped to take a good detailed look at certain body parts. Hoping you get good news!

Hey it took them ages to get a good shot of my babies SPINE because he's so wiggly, but when they did it was fine. Better to have a doctor looking out for things out of an abundance of caution than risk missing something
