Constipation

Constipation My 6 week old son hasn't had a dirty nappy since Monday morning and is really unsettled and in obvious pain. He's squirming and goes bright red. I've tried the bicycle thing with his legs but still nothing..... (He was premature so still behaving like a newborn too)

Circle rubs on his tummy, warm baths, try to sit him upright with knees up (on your lap) and of course the bicycle legs. Keep doing all these things, and if no luck in the next day or so speak to a gp x

Hey , i have had this with my daughter when she was about 2 months and the GP recommend i give her a teaspoon of boiled cooled water . It worked for us , i am not suggesting you do this but give a call to your GP and ask . I am so sorry you and your baby are going through this , i know myself it is awful to watch them being in pain and discomfort. Xx

Cooled boiled water like a sip or 2 my midwife and gp said it was okay and always sorted her right out especially because I was formula feeding it is recomended to give them a bit of water on the nhs website but deffo speak to your gp xx

Thank you for your advice ladies xx

I went to GP last week as my little girl hadn’t been for nearly 4 days. They said normal sometimes for them to not go for 5 days, but gave me lactulose which helped her go. She’s still doesn’t go every day, but it’s there for when it gets to 48 hours again to help her pass it! Defo go to GP if LO is not happy!

Excellent, thank you LO finally filled his nappy! So pleased xx
