@Alana could it be any triage or does it have to be the triage if my registered hospital? x
I would ring triage and get checked out. I’m sure everything is fine but an amniocentesis is usually used to detect genetic or chromosomal abnormalities and given they’ve said there is a risk, albeit small, it’s not worth chancing, in my opinion. Hope everything is ok x
You should have the number of your maternity triage in your notes or call your midwife. Do you not know why they've done the amniocentesis?
@Hannah they said she’s smaller than they’d like 2.3lbs when she should be 2.7lbs but small babies run in my family which i told them and all my other tests for abnormalities came back negative 🤷🏾♀️
Your maternity triage at your hospital
That's such a small difference i would be supprised them doing an amnio because of that. Mines was 2lb 3 at 29 weeks and nothing was mentioned.
That’s really weird, my baby boy weighed the same as that at our scan at 29 weeks and it put him in the 23rd percentile and there was no cause for alarm. I don’t think the test would have been solely for birth weight? You might need to get some more clarity around why they did the test and also definitely call triage. Try not to worry though as everything is very low risk at this stage.
That sounds like an odd thing to do because of a smaller sized baby. But absolutely if you're worried , go to triage x
