Hematoma

I’ve had my dating scan today. Everything looked really good and I’m measuring ahead of what I thought but I found out I have a hematoma. The midwife reassured me not to worry but I have come home and googled it stupidly! And now I’m worrying. Does anyone else have a hematoma/had one in a previous pregnancy?

Hey this just popped up on my feed, I had a hematoma I found out at 19 weeks due to bleeding, by 28 weeks it had cleared, they usually sort themselves out it just takes a while for them to heal , there’s a subchronic hematoma Facebook group if you want to join there’s lots of positive stories x

My friend had this and she was completely fine in the end, now has a happy healthy 6 month old!

I had one on scan at 9 weeks but had reduced a little At 12 weeks, it’ll just go away

I had one- it was really scary for a while but has shrunk and is fine now. Search Subchorionic haematoma in Reddit- loads of positive and reassuring stories xx

Thank you for all your reassuring comments ☺️

I had 2 huge episodes of bleeding in my first pregnancy. Both caused by heamatoma at 7 and 11 weeks. Bled for 2 weeks on and off and was absolutely terrified! HOWEVER! I now have a gorgeous 18 month old that couldn’t be happier. The bleeding didn’t affect her one bit and other than emotionally it had no impact on me or the pregnancy either. It did mean I got more scans, which was just a huge bonus! She measured perfectly the whole way through and I got to see her way more than if I hadn’t had the heamatomas. Just try and relax and trust your body ❤️❤️ xx
