Osprey Baby Carriers

Hello - anyone who knows the Osprey Poco baby carrier range, are you able to comment about whether the Poco is worth paying out the money for, as opposed to the Poco LT which is a bit cheaper? I have the opportunity to get one from abroad which would be roughly the same cost as buying secondhand here. Any thoughts or comments appreciated! 📸 Me trying to hike myself into labour in April! Baby came a week later ha ha.

I have one and I love it. I have walked miles with it.

We have the LT version, I think there isn’t much difference except the size and amount of storage, and I believe they have the same maximum weight load so tbh I’d get the LT. We’ve taken ours hiking in the alps, Norway, Scotland, and on day trips to London because it’s easier than trying to deal with a pushchair on the tube, and it’s amazing. I’ve never once wanted more storage or more space.

Thank you!

Only thing I will say is if walking somewhere with trees put the canopy up. I have managed to hit so many low hanging branches but with the canopy up they hit this first.

Try then on first if you haven't already, they don't suit everyone

Definitely take the advice of trying on first. I hated ours so much that we opted to stick with back wearing with a baby bjorn carrier 😅

When we bought ours we got it from a big outdoors shop in Ambleside in the lakes and they had quite a few to look at and try and also the staff were great with lots of knowledge on the differences. We got the poco in blue as the black was almost £100 more for the same model (no idea why). It’s been great and used it loads. Really sturdy when stood up on floor with child in it and feels comfy on once you get all the straps adjusted correctly etc. The lite if i remember rightly was just a bit smaller in size and lighter but was able to be taken on flights as fits in as hang luggage or something (but don’t quote me on that) so if you are thinking of going away a lot get that maybe. I can’t comment on that other that those few bits above. Other than that our Poco has been great. Our eldest is 2 and can still fit in it. We tried my sisters baby who is 10 months in it the other day and just adjusted the seat and she was fine in it. The canopy for sun and rain works brilliantly!!

Also love the big pocket under the stand and has lots of little eta pockets on side, back and straps perfect for bits. Also just thought, ours doesn’t fold down so quite big/bulky. Not sure If the other folds?????? Xx

Hey we have the poco and have just done one month in the Alps using it, would highly recommend. We chose the poco because we didn’t want to start using a carrier and then feel like we wanted more storage, so we went straight for the poco. My friend has the poco lite and she absolutely loves that and says she doesn’t miss the extra storage. Sorry that’s not really helpful is it 😂 they are both great!

@Jenni @Sophie I’ll definitely try them on first! I noticed one has more padded straps than the other and I also remember when I had my first Osprey Daylight, I hated how close the straps were at the top and you couldn’t widen them as they formed part of the handle.

@Lindsay Thank you! Being able to take as hand luggage would be a bonus so I will check.

@holly we have taken it as one of 2 baby items on the plane and put it on the overhead. It doesn't fold up but does flatten down
