I would be so annoyed.. I had that same thing to happen to me with my 1st born 😩 She continued to direct him to “Mamaw” instead of “mama” for months until he wouldn’t even try for just mama (he didn’t even end up saying “mama” again).. I had to change myself to mommy or mom before he would say it again and that wasn’t til almost 2!!
Good point Ashley I probably should’ve said something like that!! I did answer my baby every time she said mama hopefully it clicked for her. And omg Katie! I’m so sorry! I don’t understand they’ve had their moment already why take ours 😫
I would be furious. My mom suggested that name for herself and I shut it down real quick. "I am mama, you are not." I would change her grandma name if you can. Call her grandma or Nana when you're not around her.
I don’t have an experience, but my baby also started saying mamama only recently! But I don’t think they know what they are saying at this age, I think they are just practicing different sounds. So when my baby says mama, I don’t think it’s directed at me in any way. But it does make me happy that he’s saying that and I can see how your situation is upsetting.
New development apparently she actually goes by “mama” all the grandkids say it I just assumed they meant maw maw because there’s no way they call her “mama” well I was wrong 😂.
Make yours call her mee maw
Lol that’s ridiculous I’m sorry. You shouldn’t have to change the way it baby calls u bc of maw maw 🤣
I understand why you would be annoyed. Me personally I would have said "yes she has been saying it for a few days bc i practice with her on mama" you to take the moment back.
