Social media

I know we shouldn’t compare ourselved but man, my baby boy is 3 months, love him to death but all i keep seeing on social media are these perfect moms with perfect routines of baby who nap independently and sleep through the night and i’m here fighting with my boy who lives on short naps and wakes up 3 times at night. I’m tired and can’t help but feel so defeated.

Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. Maybe try to stay off social media for a bit? It's easy enough for them to edit out any bad bits and not show a true picture of life with a baby aha.

Social media is where everyone puts their happy stuff. Triumphs, accomplishments, things they're proud of, and other happy things in their life. (Maybe besides Peanut where we all ask each other for advice when we're struggling) Everyone struggles and has hard times. A lot of people just keep it to themselves, because it's not something you want to show off to the world.

I was like this. I ended up having to delete my social media for a while to recoup my mental health. I also have a short napper still at almost 11 months so I feel your pain

My baby hates sleep. She's hated it since about 2 months old or so. Lots of wake ups in the night plus short short naps during the day. She's 8 months and only started sleeping through the night about 2. 5 weeks ago. I learned early on that I didn't need to watch anything about babies on social media. I've had many many meltdowns in the past 8 months. All babies are different. Something that worked for one baby may not work for another. It's trial and error until you figure out your little one. Take deep breaths. Get some fresh air and sunshine. Take a shower. Don't forget to take care of yourself too. You got this mama.

SM doesn’t show us night time. How do you know? How do know for sure that these babies are sleeping through? We don’t 💁🏻‍♀️ mums may exaggerate. Mums may leave it out, not even mention it. I put happy stuff on SM, why would I air out my dirty laundry and vent on SM, why would I mention my baby wakes up however many times at night? I don’t think SM is “fake”, but rather there’s a lot of unseen stuff behind the scenes, behind those happy photos, not posted/mentioned. You’ll see a happy mum w her kids posting a play date at a zoo but who’s to know that whole morning has been a headache for her, getting to the zoo. That the toddler had a tantrum in the car beforehand or the shitty night she had before etc. we don’t see that 💁🏻‍♀️
