Flying with stroller

We will be flying for the first time with our little girl soon and i am planning to purchase either Bugaboo Butterfly or Joolz Aer stroller. Our onward flight is with Ryanair and return flight will be Easyjet. Do they both allow for us to take the stroller on board? It does say they’re cabin size friendly but what’s the reality? Or is it easier for them to go in hold before we board the flight? Thank you 🙂

Bugaboo too big for both airlines going by online dimensions. We have one and took in cabin on jet 2 but Ryanair and EasyJet cabin dimensions smaller. Not sure re the joolz

@Sophie thank you i thought it may be too big ☹️ i just little confused as flying with baby for first time - how does it work when i check in the stroller? I read i can do it at the gate? Thank you x

I just used a normal stroller and handed it in at the gate when we boarded and got it back with suitcases, that was Jet2. X

Love the bugaboo butterfly for travel! I always check it at the gate so I have one less thing to carry on the plane. Never had issues with it being damaged.

@Ellie @Sasha thanks i think that’s what we’ll do so i dont have to worry if its fits the overhead compartment xx

@Sasha really? I still cant decide whether to buy bugaboo or joolz. Is it durable? Does it feel lightweight when travelling? X

We have the maxi così Lara 2 with car seat too and it is great! Fits in the cabin

@Sarah thank you so much i will look it up!! 🥰

@Sarah i just had a look and it doesn’t look bad at all. Is it sturdy enough? Feels lightweight? What airline did you fly with? X

I’ve just bought the rise by Tinie silver cross ! I love it I think it can go on hold…at least I hope x

We just took ours to the gate. Have had two successful trips away but in the first it didn’t arrive and was never found so I’d suggest an air tag or similar.

@Eliska yes you get it tagged at check in and you just hand over when you are boarding and it goes under the plane if you are not using cabin approved. The only downside is if it’s not in the cabin you wont get it back until the luggage belt which can be quite a walk!

@Eliska it’s been really durable! We take it everywhere nowadays instead of our full bugaboo. But I’ve also heard great things about the joolz, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one!

Deffo seen several people take their bugaboo butterfly on board my easyJet flight in September as about 3 people had it in passport control with them. This is the reason I’m buying it for my holidays x

I always take mine on board in the overhead locker (Ryanair) when I fly alone with my son. And also have put it overhead when doing long haul. We have a Cybex Libelle
