First time mum help!

I carry my baby in my arms to get to the car from the house. With the weather getting wetter I’m worried about her getting wet & cold. I live in a flat so taking the pram into the house is a nightmare and my car seat is a fixed one not a carry on. We have looked at waterproof pram suits and waterproof coats but I know she can’t wear this in the car seat. I’m just a bit worried she will ended up getting wetter with me trying to take it on and off her while getting her in out of the car. Any advice would be great! Thank you x

I’m a second time mum and I still don’t have the answer to this. If you find it please share!

I know some people in colder places will get in the backseat with the baby to dress/undress weather protection

We were gifted some lovely super warm blankets so I either get in the back and take my LO out the car seat and put them in there or if there isn’t space I’ll do the transfer like I do with the hooded towel out of the bath. Ie put the hood under my chin and fold the blanket round their body like a little burrito with the head covered. That usually works for me!

A shawl/poncho worked great for me. I would wear my shawl and pin the front with a big brooch at my neck. Hold baby in my arms under the shawl and walk to the car that way. Worked in the rain, the cold, and the wind.

We live in Oregon, so lots of rain in the winter. We mostly dressed baby in warm clothes that were okay for the car seat with a hat and wrapped a blanket for the dash to the car

I wouldn't worry about this a lot tbh! Surely it's only a few seconds or maximum a couple of minutes before you're inside? Wrap a blanket round them but they'll be ok!

I wouldn’t worry, babies are not made of sugar 😂

@Caroline yeah it is a really short length of time I just panic aha xx

Thank you everyone x
