You could be lactose intolerant I am I can drink milk but when I have ice cream my belly does the same

@Laura this only started once i was pregnant though... is there such a thing as pregnancy making people lactose intolerant?

Pregnancy hormones do weird things to a woman's body. It might just be too much sugar or some other ingredient that is bothering you. I was insanely sensitive to all sort of things while pregnant.

@Shayla yes it could mean the baby is lactose intolerant or allergic. My mum had that when she was pregnant with me (although it was all dairy) and I'm allergic to dairy 😥

@Shayla so lactose intolerance isn't like a typical allergy and you can literally wake up one morning with it. Both my nan and I did I was 13 and American milk and dairy products triggered it and my nan was 74 when she randomly became lactose intolerant one morning. I can eat certain brands of ice-cream and be fine but not other (like I can eat Ben and Jerry's but Hagan daaz is out the question or I'm on the toilet for hours) and I can eat cheese in small quantities "raw" but cooked and I'm back on the toilet and milk is a rough one for me full fat milk makes my stomach turn badly but a drop in tea or coffee and I'm fine

I'm similar but for a very particular thing. So I lived off Iced Coffees for years in my late teens to mid 20's. I realised I would need a toilet not long after drinking iced coffee at cafes. It rather quickly progressed to me having an immediate reaction, like I couldn't even finish the drink, so I stopped having them all together. Still don't understand what the issue is because I could still drink it from a bottle without issue, could have hot coffees, milkshakes, milk based smoothies, frappes, and iced chocolates. It's super weird, but yeah, I immediately react to iced coffee's. From a cafe. So, I haven't had one in almost a decade. Recently started having coffee frappes from McDonalds and am ok with them. Shits weird lol

I became lactose intolerant after I had my first that was eight years ago.

Because it's only since pregnancy I find that super odd, but, I would definitely think about what ingredients are in the ice cream that aren't in milk, there's your problem - there's usually a lot of additives that can actually cause nausea, diarohea, amongst other things, and could potentially mess with a fetus, hence why it's only happening during pregnancy - I'm not vegan but I only eat vegan ice cream, doesn't make me sick after!

It might be the combination of lactose and sugar that's doing it.....or another ingredient in the ice cream. I can drink milk, eat cheese etc but if I have a chocolate cake it's shitville
