Toddlers with CMPA

My daughter is about 21 months old. She has CMPA and soya allergy diagnosed around 5 months old. Symptoms are stomach related, she gets pain and diarrhoea. We’ve tried the milk ladder once and didn’t get anywhere. Basically we’ve had bug after bug and teething so haven’t managed another go for at least 6 months. I think her ‘normal’ 💩 is a bit on the looser side so I’m always on the edge and stressing what she’s eaten. We’ve also had a really bad spell recently with 3 episodes of D&V in 3 weeks and I wonder if it’s allergy related or really just unlucky with the time of year. I wonder if there’s another allergy or something else altogether going on. Doctors don’t seem to be of any help. Has anyone is is anyone still struggling with an almost 2 year old like this?

We had a similar experience when we first started the ladder, didn’t get anywhere then she was constantly ill, but we have now started again (we’re 2.5) we are up to step 3. But have had a slight set back - MIL gave her a cake that had butter cream on (she said it was free from😹 turned out free from gluten not milk.) and now she has hand foot and mouth so we haven’t pushed it and will wait for this to clear up before going again. Our poos are on the looser side (not like solid solid but a softer mousse 🤣🤷‍♀️

@Emma it’s good to hear I’m not the only one struggling to progress the ladder. Haha it’s always the MIL 😬🙈🤣 Hope your clear of hand foot and mouth soon and can 🤞x

Thanks!! the HFM seems to have cleared now thankfully, I have her a Yorkshire pudding on Sunday to keep level 2 going. I hope you get a bit further along soon 🤞🏻 It honestly blew my mind as she has allergies herself so in my mind I thought she would be the one to be extra careful 🤣
