It was definitely so exciting and yet nerve wracking with my first 2 years ago! Especially because they don’t really talk to you much, they’re not really allowed to say a ton except “The doctor will tell you everything after!” So the whole time you’re just sitting there quietly 😅 And it was also annoying because you’re not allowed to film since they consider it a “medical procedure”, so my husband sneakily was recording but then they caught him and told him to put his phone away 😂 But other than that, it is soooooo exciting and happy to see your baby and how big they are now 😍🥰😇
The lady that did my scan at 20 weeks was telling us all throughout what she was looking at, such as that's her femur, there's her foot and hand, I'm taking measurements of her head now, just guiding us through instead of being quiet. She didn't say anything specific if there were any problems or not, which she is measuring smaller than expected and the doctor is the one that told us that. It was exciting to see how much she had grown since my last scan at 11 weeks and see how active she was.
With my first I had a different provider and they wouldn’t tell one word during the scans. Thankfully this time our provider was talking to us all throughout what she was measuring. They even took 2 4D pictures of his face and gave it to us ❤️🔥 what i would recommend is to bring very cold water and something sweet like chocolate. Whenever my son was hiding or didn’t want to move I drank iced water and ate chocolate bites and he would move and that would help the technician. They always tell us “if I let you go, everything is ok”. Good luck!!
I had my anatomy scan yesterday (ftm)! I was super nervous that something was going to be wrong or she wouldnt cooperate but once we got in there and I was able to see baby girl the nerves kinda went away because I was so excited! I’m not sure how your ob does it but mine was super good at explaining every part of what they were looking at to me and answering any questions I had!
My girl was stubborn and wouldn’t give them their pics! I go back next week for a re do. She covered her face the whole time and kept flipping around lol. Even with her being stubborn they were able to see the gender though!
