@Flo that's what I was thinking, last time I wore her she just moaned and rubbed her face into my chest the whole time. I think she would much prefer the other way, she loves people watching
I recently saw an paediatric orthopaedic consultant who advised not to put babies in the forward facing position when using a carrier regardless of what the manufacturer says. Take what you want from that. ultimately it’s your choice and you know your baby best.
It's not advised until 6 months, but again, every baby is different. I never carry my baby forward facing for very long anyway. It's only when I don't have the pram or she woke up from her nap and I need to keep moving.
It's not just about neck control, it's about trunk control as well. Which is why it isn't advised until they are older/bigger stronger.
I think as well as positioning it’s not advised generally for long periods because babies can get overstimulated. I think some where I read that 20 mins would be plenty. But the alternative would be to back carry (when they’re a little bit bigger).
I have. Think I started about 2 weeks ago. She wouldn't stay happy in the carrier when awake so I changed to facing forward and it's been so much better. Her neck control is great, and she feels nicely supported, so there are no issues there. And she loves watching around.
