Needing Support and a Mom Tribe

Hi everyone, It's 5am and I have been awake crying for 3 hours. Have been desperately seeking support from every angle I could find and bot really successful. Figured it might be a good idea to write here even though I am socially awkward as hell. My boy was due end of December and he was born on 30 September. I have suffered from depression and anxiety my entire life and now going through this in a country I have moved to within the last year with zero support system in place.

Hey Momma! I'm so sorry you're struggling. It is not easy that's for sure! Remember he is in the best place for him! I know when my youngest was in the hospital the social worker was our best resource to talk to. She hooked us up with anything she could. Keep your head up. Ask the staff all of the questions you have and don't be shy about it. Write them down so you don't forget! Your baby boy is happy just to hear your voice. Stay strong for him. You got this!!! He'll be home causing trouble in no time 😊.

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this!! I was due September 28, but gave birth at 27 weeks 3 days on July 2. This has been a very emotional and stressful time and I have a long history of anxiety. I can definitely relate. My inbox is open if you want to chat!

Hey mama. I know how tough this is, it seems like things are dark and not good, but I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel. Having no support system nearby is horrible and I’m sorry. If you need a friend, feel free to message me. I had a level 4 critical nicu baby who is now healthy and thriving.

@Emily Oh I already told people to remind me how worried I was when he is home and causing havoc. If he is anything like his father I will have my hands full 😅

@Cassie messaged you just now. I am so sorry that you are going through this too. Message me any time you want

@Jessica so glad to hear that things are good for you and your baby is thriving! Sending a message now

@Luna you are not alone. And I can only imagine making a move during this time makes it even more difficult. One of the resources that I found helpful is Postpartum Support International. I can send you the web link if you can’t find it via internet search. They have free resources for parents experiencing and/or concerned about their mental health during pregnancy and postpartum. They even have a NICU support group. The other resource I used a lot is Dear NICU Mama. They have a podcast and a private Facebook group for moms.
