Nursery closure

I'm totally devastated. Got an email tonight to say our little ones nursery is permanently closing in 3 weeks time. Personal circumstances. The rise in cost, long hrs. Paperwork at weekends. They can't do it anymore. I honestly don't know what to do. I feel sick. We sent him there to help with speech. Within 6 months, fully talking. I know there are other nurseries. Pre schools even, but not the same ratio of staff. Pre school he will have to go 5 days a week. I'm just not ready for that yet. He's not fully potty trained yet. I'm also scared he will be dismissed like the first nursery we sent him to. Don't know what the point is to this post. I'm just so sad.

I can’t imagine how stressful that must be and how anxious you must be feeling about having to choose somewhere new and have him settle in again. I hope you’re able to find somewhere new that you both love. It will all be alright, even if it doesn’t feel that way now. 💖

@Chloe thanks lovely :( xx

My son goes to preschool and doesn’t do 5 days a week.

@N 💞 it's Mon to Fri around here. I asked :( you can either do full days or half days, but can't mix and match if you get me xx

@Ruth that’s so silly!

@N 💞 I know right haha. I'm looking at private too xx

@Ruth why not? Usually preschool is exactly like that and you can choose how to make up your entitled hours. Mine does 2 full days and one half day every week for 15 hours free

@Peer95 I'm not sure lovely. It's just how it works around here. Xx

@Peer95 Having a look at a private one on Monday. Bit of a jump in price but right on seafront xx

Oh Ruth this is so sad, I would be gutted if our nursery was going to suddenly close. I would definitely recommend going to view a few different ones and maybe even explaining about what happened with your first nursery and the potty training etc x

@Kerrie I feel little better today. Still gutted though :( we have registered with a new one, not as a final decision just to secure a place . The manager was lovely on the phone, all nurseries had been inundated with enquiries from parents at our current nursery. Just bit of a jump in price :( they do sound supportive though and she wasn't phased that he wasn't potty trained yet, they will support where they can xx
