Loneliness

Does anyone else find being pregnant makes them feel a bit lonely? Neither of my parents are particularly supportive or interested, and I lost three grandparents that I was close to last year. For some strange reason pregnancy seems to be exacerbating my loss / sadness / grief. Or magnifying the important relationships I don't have to support / celebrate with me. Any advice much appreciated. Hopefully this makes sense!

I lost 2 grandparents as well just before getting pregnant last year. It's not easy and yes I also think that being pregnant makes you feel a bit lonely. Feel free to msg me x

@Yael thank you for offering support. It's great even to know I'm not alone 🧡

Depending on if you want to , I’d bring this up with your parents . Explain how you feel and that you’d like them to be a more active part of your excitement about baby . Involve them in things asking opinions about names if you haven’t got one yet and talk to them about the little one and what they’d like to be called , granny , nanna etc . If it is their first grandchild , maybe they don’t know how to react and don’t want to overwhelm you . Is your partner / baby’s father supportive ?

@Lianne yes, thankfully my husband is amazing. Unfortunately this isn't the sort of conversation I can have with my parents - I'm not sure they ever really wanted to be parents themselves 😂.

I feel the same 🩷 feel free to message me!

@Anonymous sending lots of love your way. I've found writing down my feelings, then crying it out, is helpful to process.
