Best to rear face for your babies safety! There’s car seat safety groups on Facebook that’ll help you with any questions. We’re still rear!
it’s normal for their legs to be crammed while rear facing it’s actually safe i saw cause they’re able to bend in case of an accident
Internal decapitation is my worst fear with forward facing too early so we rear face. My over 3 1/2 year old is still rear facing too. I purposely bought the Graco extend to fit that goes up to 50lbs rear facing. Also, I think the recommendation is to wait at minimum until they are at least 2 years old to forward face! I agree with @liezl on joining a FB group run by CPST.
pls do research on forward facing! it’s every parents decision ofc, but it’s so dangerous to have toddlers forward facing when they’re so young. personally i’d rather have my child cramped than get internally decapitated if in an accident.
Absolutely not!
My 36 pound 37in tall 3yr son is still rear facing and so is my 27 pound 32in tall 19mo daughter!
I left mine rear facing I’d rather him have broken legs than be internally split in two. He’s 44 pounds and 40 inches
Just a friendly reminder that we can share feedback without having to be condescending 🤗❤️
@Erin Same here. I know I’ll be considered a “bad mom” for doing it but car rides are so much easier now that she’s facing forward
@Samantha exactly. my faith and hope doesn't come from a car seat anyways, I trust in God to protect us
Still rear-facing over here. Police officer who put my convertible seat in the other day said that the babies will make themselves comfortable (if legs are long in rear facing), but he HIGHLY recommended rear facing for as long as possible. I'm guessing he has seen the damage an accident can cause because he was really stressing it. He is certified in the car seat safety training. Officer keeps his toddler daughter rear facing, and he says she just crosses her legs. I hope this helps!
Here it's illegal to forward face before 2 so we'll be rear facing until then minimum, I'm not sure how long after. It'll depend on how my son fits and handles being rear facing beyond that. 2 is the law in a lot of places now so definitely check the law where you live before you make a decision! It is recommended to rear face as long as you reasonably can, but we switched my older son (now 4) forward facing at 2 and a half because we just couldn't do it anymore. He's in the 99th+ percentile for height so was insanely cramped, and yes I know they say kids will make themselves comfortable but he hated it to the point that every single car ride was a battle to even get him in his seat and half the time we couldn't get him strapped in properly because of it. Do what works best for your family
Nope . We're gonna do it till the recommended age
Even if they can be switched based on weight it’s safest to keep rear facing

Rear facing my 39" 37lb 2.5 year old and my March baby. My car seat says 40lb or 40in for max on rear facing. We are likely going to have to turn him around on his 3rd bday. My daughter (March baby) is 33" and 32.5lbs so I don't think she'll make it to three but we will see.
Mines forward facing.. she's 25 pounds. When we switched her from her infant car seat, my husband made it forward facing and we never switched it 🤷🏻♀️
